Verifies that the database is not in use.
The database cannot be in use when you perform a full offline backup.

PROBKUP or operating system utility
|
Backs up the database.
You must perform a full backup of the database before you can use roll-forward recovery.

RFUTIL MARK BACKEDUP
|
Marks the database as backed up.
If you do not use PROBKUP to back up the database, you must mark the database as backed up to begin after-imaging or start a new after-image file.

|
RFUTIL AIMAGE NEW
|
Starts a new AI file.
After you back up the database and AI files, you can truncate the existing AI file.
|
|
RFUTIL AIMAGE END
|
Disables after-imaging.
Before you run a batch job, you might want to disable after-imaging to improve performance.
|
|
RFUTIL ROLL FORWARD RETRY
|
Restarts the roll-forward operation.
Use of this qualifier is limited to RFUTIL roll-forward operations that fail because of power outages or system failures.
